Before you call

What to tell us when you get in touch

The more you can tell us at the first contact, the better prepared we are when we visit. Useful things to include are your full address, what you have noticed and roughly when it started, the type of roof if you know it, and photos taken from ground level if that is safe. If water is coming in somewhere, say where it shows up indoors — a mark on a ceiling often sits well away from where the roof actually lets the water in, and knowing both helps us find the cause faster.

Access details are worth mentioning too: where we can park, whether there is room for scaffolding if the job looks bigger than a repair, and anything else about the property a visitor should know. None of it is compulsory, but it all helps us plan the right visit first time.

What happens next

From enquiry to finished roof

Once we hear from you, we arrange a time to look at the roof. On the visit we inspect the slopes, ridges, valleys, lead and gutters, and check the loft where we can, so our advice is based on what is actually there rather than a guess from the ground. You then receive a written quotation in plain language, covering the work, the materials and the likely timescale, with no pressure to decide on the doorstep.

If you go ahead, we agree a start date, carry out the work and leave the site tidy, keeping the roof weathertight at the end of every working day. If you are comparing firms first, our guide to choosing a roofer lists sensible questions to ask anyone who quotes, and our roofing costs guide explains what drives the figures.

Which service do you need?

Tell us roughly what the job is

You do not have to decide before you call — the survey settles that. But if you already know what you are after, point us at the right service:

If water is coming into the house right now, tell us on the phone rather than waiting on a reply to the form, and stay out of the room below the leak if the ceiling is bulging.

Common questions

Contacting Rowan Roofing

Which areas does Rowan Roofing cover?

We are based in Cardenden, Fife, and cover Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee as our three core cities, travelling up to 50 miles for the right job. Our areas page explains where we work in detail.

What details should I include when I get in touch?

Your full address, what you have noticed and roughly when it started, the type of roof if you know it, and photos from ground level if you can take them safely. Parking and access notes also help us plan the visit.

Can you take on small repairs as well as new roofs?

Yes. New roofs are our speciality, but a single slipped slate or a leaking gutter joint is just as welcome a call, and we will tell you honestly if a repair is all you need.

How do I get in touch?

Call 07508 571291 during opening hours, email nickyrowan1@gmail.com, or complete the form on this page and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Do I need to be at home for the survey?

For the outside of the roof we do not need you there, but being able to see indoors — the loft or the room under the leak — often helps us confirm the cause, so it helps if you can be at home or arrange access.
