Our expertise
Everything your roof needs
Reliable workmanship, clear advice and quality materials on every job. Here is what each type of work involves, with a link to the full service page.
New Roofs
The work we are known for. A complete new roof starts with a proper look at the structure underneath, then the old covering is stripped and the new roof is built from the eaves up to the ridge, with ridges, flashings and guttering finished properly.
Roof Replacements
When a roof reaches the end of its working life, another patch only delays the decision. We replace ageing roofs with dependable materials and set out the full job in writing before anything starts.
Roof Repairs
Leaks, slipped slates, cracked ridges and storm damage. We look for the actual source of the water before quoting, because a stain on a ceiling often starts well away from the point where the roof lets it in.
Emergency Roof Repairs
Urgent help for active leaks, storm damage and roof materials that have moved. Call during opening hours, or send the address, details and a safely taken photo through the contact form.
Slate Roof Repairs
Natural slate needs patience and the correct fixings. We replace broken slates with matching ones, deal with ridges and lead, and will tell you honestly if a slate roof has reached the stage where renewing it makes more sense than repairing it.
Ridge Tile Repairs
Ridge and hip tiles cap the most exposed lines of a roof. When the mortar beneath them cracks, we repoint or fully rebed them, and refit tiles brought down by high wind.
Roof Valley Repairs
Valleys carry the water from two slopes at once. We clear blocked valleys, repair cracked mortar and reline split lead so the channel carries rain away again.
Flat Roofing
Flat roofs on extensions, garages and dormers live or die by the deck beneath and the edges. We install, maintain and renew flat roofs, and will explain the difference between a short-term patch and a job built to last.
Flat Roof Repairs
Splits, ponding, lifted edges and leaking upstands on garage, extension and dormer roofs. We repair where the deck is sound and say plainly when renewal is the better spend.
Chimney Repairs & Lead Work
Chimneys and the lead around them are where many roofs first admit water. We repoint and repair stacks, renew flashings, aprons and soakers, and seal the junctions where a stack meets the slope.
Guttering & Roofline
Gutters, downpipes, fascias and soffits carry rainwater safely away from your walls. We replace tired roofline, realign and clear gutters, and often bundle this work in with roof renewals so the top of the house is finished in one project.
Roof Windows
Adding or replacing a roof window brings daylight into loft rooms and stairwells. Our roof windows page explains what an installation involves, from choosing the window to weathering it into the covering.
Roof details and insulation
Explore warm flat roofs, roof insulation, bay and porch roofs, dormer roof repairs and roof moss removal for the considerations specific to each part of the roof.
How we work
How a roofing job runs, from first call to tidy-up
Roofing is something most people only need once every few decades, so it helps to know what to expect before anyone sets foot on a ladder.
- 1
First contact
Call 07508 571291 or send a message with your address and what you have noticed. If you can add a photo taken safely from the ground, even better.
- 2
Survey
We arrange a visit and inspect the roof: the covering on each slope, ridges and hips, valleys, lead at chimneys and dormers, plus the gutters that move water away. Where we can, a peek inside the loft completes the picture.
- 3
Written quote
You receive a quotation in plain language covering the work, the materials and the likely timescale, with no pressure to decide on the doorstep. If something is worth watching rather than fixing now, we will say so.
- 4
Agreed start date
Once you are happy, we fix a start date and plan access, materials and any scaffolding, and explain the order of work so you know what happens on which day.
- 5
The work
Old materials are removed as we go, the roof is left weathertight at the end of every working day, and we let you know straight away if the weather means changing plans.
- 6
Tidy-up and handover
At the end, the site is cleared and the property left as we found it, with a finished roof rather than a mess. We flag anything worth keeping an eye on for the future.

All roof types
Whatever your house is covered with
Homes across Fife, Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee carry every kind of covering: natural slate on older stone houses, concrete and clay tiles on newer builds, and flat sections over extensions, garages and dormers. Whichever yours has, the starting point is the same — we inspect what is there, explain the options in plain language and set the chosen job out in writing before any work begins. Our guides to slate versus tile roofs and roofing costs cover the decisions in more depth.
If you are unsure what your roof needs, that is fine too. Tell us what you have noticed — a damp patch indoors, debris in the gutter after high wind, a slate on the ground — and the survey will tell us the rest. If a sensible repair will serve your roof for years, we will say so rather than recommend a renewal.
